On July 9, 2025, Nvidia became the first company valued at $4 trillion. When might it or another company become a $10 trillion company?
In late 1999, Microsoft became the first to reach a $400 billion valuation. The first company to reach a $1 trillion valuation was PetroChina, which briefly surpassed the $1 trillion mark on its first day of trading on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in November 2007. Apple was the first to achieve and maintain this milestone, reaching a $1 trillion market capitalization on August 2, 2018.
The first company to be worth $2 trillion was Saudi Aramco, which briefly crossed the $2 trillion mark on December 12, 2019, shortly after its public listing. On August 19, 2020, Apple was the first U.S. company to reach a $2 trillion valuation.
It took about 2 years for a doubling in value for Apple. It took 8 years for a 250% increase in value from Microsoft to PetroChina. There was an intervening market crash.
If there is no market crash and if AI growth continues then Nvidia will likely reach $10 trillion in valuation in 2-3 years.
